Bring the Magic of Butterflies to Your Classroom!

The Mariposa Butterfly Festival is proud to offer classrooms the unique opportunity to raise and release live butterflies! Through our Butterfly Classroom Education Program, teachers can introduce students to the incredible lifecycle of a butterfly while fostering hands-on learning about nature, science, and conservation.

Each participating classroom will receive:

🦋 A live butterfly habitat with caterpillars
📖 Educational materials on butterfly lifecycles and care
🌱 A chance to release butterflies into the environment

How It Works:

1️⃣ We deliver a live butterfly habitat with caterpillars directly to your classroom in early April with supportive educational materials.
2️⃣ Your students observe the full butterfly lifecycle, from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly!
3️⃣ All participating classrooms are asked to drop off their live butterflies at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds Pavilion on Friday, May 2nd for distribution to children at the festival who will assist with live releases.
